Since 2007 Coral Residential & Community Assessments has worked across Local Authority Children’s Services within Greater London and the Home Counties. We offer bespoke assessment programmes which are Social Work led and multi-disciplinary, and we are highly regarded within the Family Courts.
All of our assessments involve a multi-disciplinary team that can include clinical psychologists, adult psychiatrists, attachment specialists and behavioural specialists. Our assessment models include PAMS, Parent-Assess and DVIP Risk Assessments, and we have particular experience in assessing parents who have a level of learning need / neurodiverse and complex mental health conditions / a history of substance misuse.
Given the diverse ethnic and cultural demographic within Greater London, we are at the forefront of offering cross-cultural assessment models which consider the family’s cultural norms and practices within the broader context of what is appropriate and safe for the child.
Our intensive community-based parenting risk assessments include observation and input to support parents to develop their skills, as well as weekly individual and couple sessions, and sessions with the support network.
In 2011, Coral collaborated with the West London YMCA to begin Residential Community Assessment provision as a provision for parents who are Care Leavers and other vulnerable parents. In 2018, Coral began to provide Residential Community Assessments within the family home and this innovative service has received positive feedback from Service Users, Children’s Services Social Workers and Team Managers, Solicitors, and Children’s Guardians.
